NCISLA Classified Preview: “Queen Pin” (S8E17)

Title:   “Queen Pin”

Airing:   March 12th.  Hey, two in a row, that hasn’t happened since early January.

Filming:  January 24th to January 31st

What CBS is telling us:   Sam assumes a former alias in a risky undercover operation to take down an elusive drug lord. Also, Hetty interrupts Callen and Anna’s romantic night to assign them a prisoner escort mission, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES.

What we think is happening:  Hetty has taken over Nell’s role of ruining romantic moments while Sam looks to be on his own.  Callen and Anna’s prisoner is a blast from Kensi and Deeks’s not so recent past.

      • I just discovered the problem by looking through the pics you posted…
        It is really rather simple.
Craft services is full of cereal, what the heck.

No breakfast pasta with sausage and bacon…no doughnuts… no chocolate…no Frittata…
Kensi and Deeks can’t be happy.
        Problem solved.

        • can’t keep a hungry Kensi happy on cereal alone.

Hey, did you notice that there are at least 2 different kinds of Kelloggs…SPECIAL K cereal on the table….Really…that would be enough to tick any body off after what she went through…

Why not just set a Bronze bust of Sullivan on the table…
          Poor Kensi…

  2. I hope we get some nice surprises in the ep.
For some reason I have a feeling some progress with Kensi and Deeks is due.
On the surface, there are some things that aren’t my favorites..
The team is split up again
    Anna/ Callen romance
Anna in the field with Callen
    Anna back at all…
Kensi and Deeks split up work wise
    Nell back in the field

It seems that when Anna is around we get these weird shifts involving everyone.
She gets Callen, leaving Sam alone….everyone tale one step to the left to fill in.
I am still hopeful for some great things that aren’t eluded to in the promo/ sneak peeks.

I am very interested in the Deeks and Hetty conversation…
I see a couple of possibilities and I am not sure just which one is more likely.

Hetty discussing the IA thing/ Whiting
Hetty Discussing their prior conversation and Deeks lashing out at her
Hetty threatening to split them up if it continues
Hetty asks about Kensi and her return to work.
Hetty apologizing for all Kensi went through because of her meddling.
Hetty asking Deeks if things are good between the couple.
Hetty offering to give them the Beach house as a gift for being such a B****
Hetty offering to pay for the wedding when it comes

    So, what will we get?
bad news ?, Deeks informed that IA is still on him, or that Sabatino is still after Kensi?

A threat to split the couple up at work or transfer him if he doesn’t get in line…

Some kind of apology to attempt to make Hetty more likable and repair her relationship with the team.

…a combination of some of the above???
    I am very curious.

I hope that a lack of Densi in the field..leads to some quality Densi other places…
I would love to see them have a good discussion.

    any thoughts?

    still hopeful

Thank you once again for putting this together for us. I really like the sneak peek with Nell, Eric, Deeks, and Kensi , it feels like the team is back together again. I also like that Deeks has information because he is LAPD and the fact that he is backing up Sam showing their relationship is developing further along in a very positive way. I just cannot get excited though about yet another Anna episode. She really drags the show down. Looking at the promo pictures of her in the field once again with her hair down , in her face, the only woman across all three NCiS shows with their hair down in the field , just reinforces that she has no credibility as an agent in the field. I can only think of the line that Michelle said to Siderov in Ascension, “you sent Barbies after me”, I guess I do not understand why the female chosen to be Sam’s wife was awesome, she is a credentialed actress with great chemistry with LL Cool J and yet to find a girlfriend for Callen they picked a model who has no chemistry with Chris O’Donnell. The on line wisdom seems to be people just fast forwarding through her scenes but if I do that I also miss the Callen scenes. I guess I find it disheartening that the show just lets it continue.

please be careful my friends…I am still pulling arrows out of my butt from the last time I made such inflammatory comments…
    Kidding.
    you both made me laugh,
    thank you.
Although I am not a big fan of the geeks in the field, Nell has been better lately and less over the top. Nell does well with Deeks, the flow of the scenes is nice and they react well to each other.
Sam has shown more respect for Deeks lately and hopefully that will continue.
there had been a couple of good scenes between the two of them recently and hopefully we get more.
I think that for know, I will pass on the Anna comments
Besides, I have to file a police report because someone stole a stuffed horse head out of my garage recently….
You haven’t seen it have you ?

? Should I ask Gemmill or Brennan if they have seen one lately???

  9. Thanks, Tess, for your preview, it’s very appreciated every week.

I admit I don’t have many expectations from this episode, because I’ve been training myself not to.
What I look forward to the most is the chance given to Nell and Kensi to work together after Kensi’s back: some nice action and dialog could arise. Let’s cross our fingers.

What I look forward to the least is more Anna scenes with Callen… Just watching at the promo pictures I felt like closing the page immediately, I don’t like their forced interactions, they transmit nothing to me and seem too artificial to ring true.

In this episode I would also like to have the nice surprise of a worth-watching Densi scene, but no expectations here, I’m beginning to lose hope we’ll get to see any meaningful interaction/dialog between Deeks and Kensi in the near future, and this is saddening me to no end, I can’t believe it’s happening after the amazing way their relationship had been dealt with last season and after everything both characters have been through in the first part of this season.

    • Cladani,
Are you thinking they are putting the breaks on things again?
we were promised a proposal and a Deeks, M episode soon, right?
22 episode in and there is not a Deeks ep on the horizon.
they do tend to play yoyo with the Densi relationship, so do you think just no wedding, which is understandable…or no proposal either?
Then again, we did get a proposal and Kensi said no…if they choose to count that, I wont be all that thrilled.

Could the Deeks, M ep be the season finale? With a cliffhanger where he gets arrested again at the very end, maybe by Whiting…

Probably right after a proposal, Right???…

      • I honestly have no idea what the showrunners are going to do with Densi this year. I did hope for more progression during and just after Kensi’s recovery, some heart-to-heart talks, some important and substantial and heartfelt (even brief) interactions and conversations, something that could be rewarding for us viewers (and fans) and for them as characters. My only frustration comes from the fact that only very few scenes and dialogs could have made the difference for this realistic characters’ development after something so serious as Kensi’s accident and coma and temporary disability, if only TPTB had wanted, so this makes me think they don’t, and they might have other plans for Deeks and Kensi at present. We can only wait and see.

    • Thanks for the kind words.

This looks like a split episode – the team, sans Callen, is working Sam’s undercover case while Callen and Anna move Asakeem. With Anna being part of the Marshals, that’s what they do. It will be interesting to see how they work together.

I’ve been happy with season eight. I think they’ve done an amazing job putting together really good episodes with one cast member off on maternity leave and another so sick. They’ve really had a solid season. I don’t worry about episodes before air.

      Thanks again!
