Insider Intel:  There are several “what to expect in season nine” columns about NCIS: Los Angeles:

EW looked at the new addition to the main cast.

TV Insider has info on the changes in season nine.

TVGuide wrote up a recap of season eight and a look ahead to season nine.

While promoting “Battle of the Sexes” last week, Eric Christian Olsen mentioned NCIS: Los Angeles in this Parade Magazine article.  He also spoke to ET at a charity event here.

Daniela Ruah also spoke to Parade Magazine about the new season.

TVGuide spoke to Nia Long about her new role.

LL Cool J on the beach caught the attention of the Daily Mail.

Unofficial Surveillance:

Is it really unofficial surveillance when the director shares where the episode will be Sunday night?

Sneak Peeks:

A fun start to the day.

Kensi and Deeks aren’t the only ones at the beach.

A not so fun start to the day.

Possible Sports Related Delays:  CBS has a full doubleheader this Sunday with the entire country (which is rare) getting the Oakland Raiders-Denver Broncos game. I will update the start time if there is a delay (there is a planned 9:30PM ET/8:30PM CT start for this episode) in the comments section Sunday night.  Other places to find the start time include the show’s official Twitter account (@NCISLA) and CBS’s official twitter account (@CBSTweet).

Any late info from the cast or crew will also be in the comment section.

So glad to be back!

  1. As always a first class run down of the show by Tess! It’s good to have the wikiDeeks team back! Here’s to a great season 9!!!

  2. Wow, what a compilation. As we start the new season, I once again thank you Tess for doing this and keeping it all straight for those of us who are fans. I am excited for season 9 as I am sure everyone is. I am anxious to see what they do with the new additions to the cast. I hope the new additional cast members are well integrated into the show and also do not result in less screen time for the existing characters we love.

    • Thank you! So glad to be back!

I think the new characters gives the rest of the cast some flexibility – Sam won’t have to be shot if LL Cool J needs a week to host the Grammys. Callen won’t be sent on a special assignment every March because Chris O’Donnell plays the Pebble Beach Pro-Am every year (it is a CBS golf tournament).

  3. Getting more and more excited, thanks for this, Tess! One thing I hadn’t noticed on the set list previously – the last location on it is Saigon. I wonder if that will have to do with Hetty/Granger? Also a question for anyone who may know about these things – Shay Mosley/Mosely is an Executive Assistant Director. Is that higher or lower on the food chain than a plain old regular Assistant Director?

    • I would imagine Saigon does. One actor (Long Nguyen) is in several episodes. Hetty’s Granger related storyline is supposed to last a while. That makes perfect sense.

According to the interwebs, the Executive Assistant Director is a higher position than Assistant Director. Controlling the OSP requires, its seems upper management’s full attention.

  5. Very excited! I will probably miss original run Sunday night due to a typically late-running class so I’ll watch it Monday via Amazon Instant.

    BUT …..

I mean, come on, can they not have a premiere without someone either going “rogue” OR Hetty turning in resignation and disappearing? Is there a contract somewhere? Written in blood upon pain of death ….?

    • What did Nell say, NCIS: LA we be crazy – someone is always off doing something.

With Hetty releasing Khaled in “Uncaged”, she probably resigned before they could fire her. I’m sure a little way into the season (200 will be the 8th episode overall), the team may need Hetty or Hetty may need the team.

  6. OK, another question, now that I’m seeing all of this in one place. JPK teased someone we wouldn’t see in a while would be back in the premiere, and then said Monty would be back but not in 901. So does that mean Monty was who we has teasing in the first place and just misspoke about it being in 901, or is someone being left off the guest cast list? I know Bates and Mama Deeks will be back in the premiere, but we’ve seen them both relatively recently (S7 and S8, respectively), so would either of them be described as someone we haven’t seen in a while?

    • I saw that too but I never put too much into statements like that. Someone we haven’t seen in a while could be Nate or Bates or Aiden – what the program considers “a while” is not always what the fanbase thinks.
