  1. Episode 12, seriously? It’s unbelievable how fast more than half of Season 9 has flown by and we are heading towards the winter premiere. So, brand new year, brand new NCIS:LA episode with the usually welcome preview by Tess. Thanks for everything you do for us fans!

When I realized we were getting a team bullpen scene (which I missed a lot this year) as a sneak peek I was thrilled, but to be honest, I didn’t like the scene we got very much. Annoyed (with Deeks) Kensi is my least favorite version of her character, not because I wrongly interpret the scene as a Densi fight (clearly it’s not), but because I’m not interested at all in seeing her irritated for unimportant things such as the game Deeks is playing. I like Densi serious and deep scenes, I like their banter and lighter scenes but I can’t stand when she’s annoyed.

I hope the rest of the episode will someway redeem itself.

    Thanks again!

    • Oh everything is going by so quickly!

I agree that something just seems off with that scene. Callen and Sam are too into it, Kensi is completely indifferent. Something is up.

I’m just happy to have a new episode. It is cold here and I’m happy there is some good TV to twach.

      Thanks for the kind words!

  2. Thanks Tess and a Happy New Year to you! I probably am in a minority of Deeks’ fans but I enjoyed the bull pen sneak peek. Although Deeks playing these games and Kensi being annoyed is not my favorite Densi , I truly enjoyed seeing the core team together interacting in the bullpen. I re-watched some season 9 over the holiday and I really tired quickly of the opening scenes with Mosley and only some of our core team , with Mosley posturing and treating Sam and Harley as the only competent agents in the room. This sneak peek was a breath of fresh air for me.

    • Something just seems off with that scene. It is less that Kensi doesn’t want to play along as much as it is Callen and Sam being so eager to join in. Odd.

My interest in Mosley is less in this hour and more going forward. What will her involvement be with any Hetty rescue? What will her interactions be with Hetty once Hetty is back?

Thanks for the kind words and Happy New Year to you too! Hope 2018 treats you well.

  3. I think ECO won`t be there, he was in holyday, I don“t like when he`s not in an ep. I Watch NCIS LA just for them.

    • They’ve done a good job writing around him when he’s gone. The whole Guy storyline a few weeks back as part of that. The same with “Old Tricks”. They’re good at adjusting episodes to suit the schedules of their stars.

  6. Thanks for the great review and happy new year to all of you!
I was really excited for the bullpen-scene, but then I also felt as if there was something off. Mosley is making me to not want to watch the episodes, the constant frown etched to her features, and (hate to say this) her bitchy attitude just bring the show down for me. I really tried to be open-minded about her and wanted to see where her and Hetty’s storyline connect, but now I am just annoyed. The storyline with her missing son was also kind of dropped, I really wish that they will still pick it up in the future to give a more humane-aspect to the character and to also maybe explain where Mosley is coming from. Hidoko on the other hand is a character that I personally feel fits into the show because her interactions with the team feel heartfelt and authentic. I liked that she was the one to start “connecting” Mosley with the team, but now I feel that this connection is not really being established without her help. Mosley is not integrated in my opinion, she is more of a bystander. I also felt that the story-line was a bit more far-fetched than usual.
But, after all this criticizing, I really loved the final scene, the teams funny, non-bullying banter and Sam’s conversation with his daughter was really sweet.
