NCISLA Classified Preview: “767” (S8E19)

Title:   “767”

Airing:  March 26th

Filming:  February 10th to February 21st

What CBS is telling us:   After an engineer who was developing a new guided missile destroyer is murdered, Callen and Sam go undercover to track his co-worker aboard a plane to Tokyo to sell the classified intel. Also, Deeks plans a surprise get-together for Kensi and her out-of-town friends, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES.

What we think is happening:  Air Callen and Sam are off to Tokyo while maybe Kensi’s friends from Camp Pendleton, who earned a handful of mentions in the first two seasons and were never discussed again, are back.

Sneak Peeks:

Sam knows his explosives.

Look at Callen making friends with his seatmates!  He’s grown so much over the years.

Possible Sports Related Delays:  CBS still has the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament this weekend so there should be a delay Sunday.  I will update the adjusted ETZ/CTZ start times in the comment section Sunday evening.

No episode next week – CBS is preempting their Sunday dramas for the Academy of Country Music Awards.  We’re back on April 9th with “From Havana With Love” (and sadly, probably another delay, this time because of Masters Golf).

Great preview as always. I really appreciated this one, there were a number of social media posts I missed, so glad you are so “on top of everything” , it is much appreciated. I saw this episode at “Paleyfest” and really enjoyed it, no spoilers, but something for everyone.

    • Oh good, I’m glad you enjoyed the episode. I live in New York and do the PaleyFest presentations when they do them for the New York shows (“Madam Secretary”, “Elementary”). I always wish they’d flip them – send some of the California based shows to New York and some of the New York based shows to LA.

Thanks so much for your kind words!

  2. Thank you Tess,
    greatly appreciated as always.
This is a tough time of year for Sundays with all the sports related delays and awards driven preempting going on.
you do a great job of getting the information out.
    thank you

    • Thanks Ed! The only good thing about the Sunday delays is that they promote the show in some highly rated sporting events like football. You’re 100% right about the award show/special event preemptions. I’m looking forward to the summer reruns and seeing “Hot Water”/”Under Siege”/”Payback” in a back-to-back-to-back airing without missing weeks in-between. They were great individually but how much better did they work as a linear three-parter.

      Thanks again!

  3. I know I can grumble about things at times, so I am going to take a different approach today…

I will choose to look at the complete lack of Kensi and Deeks in the previews, promos, production stills and sneak peeks as a big positive.

Some things are to important to leak or preview. They want the moment to be a surprise for full effect…it will mean that much and be a major plot point.

1/2 the team is out of the country. so there is a great opportunity for a Densi moment.
with no previews, and her friends coming into town.., can we take a guess that it might be something big???

No, I am not chasing rainbows.
and I’m not riding around on my Unicorn..(.it has been upset at me since Lindy made it mad by trying to get ruby slippers on its feet…)

no proof and not 100% convinced…but the setup is there for a SURPRISE moment…of some kind…

yes…..no……put down the Cool-Aid and slowly step away….
    what do you think???

  4. Will they give us enough to stop an Occupy Paramount march by the Densi fans.
    They have a great opportunity.

  5. saw this ep at paleyfest, it was an unbelievable experience and I LOVED THE EPISODE! No spoilers, but not sure if it was so enjoyable because of the awesome environment or because it really features something for everyone. I felt like i was at a movie theater with a hundred or so big fans watching alongside me, and there were plenty of times i wanted to jump out of my chair cheering. The guest stars were all great this week, each added another element to the episode and i’m so excited for everyone to see it

    • I would imagine it would be so much fun to see an episode in a big theater with fellow fans on a big screen. Very cool! So thrilled you loved the episode. Bodes well for tomorrow on my living room TV!

  6. Thanks for your preview.
I really can’t wait to watch this episode, I like some action in the sky and both the sneak peeks seemed interesting. Then, if there’s something for everyone, count me in! I hope Deeks won’t surprise only Kensi but us viewers too. Really looking forward to this one.

  7. Thank you so much for putting all this together for us fans! Its very much appreciated; I look forward to it each week.
On another note; man I wish they would stop with the preview of a compilation of other episodes; its feels like a lie; here watch the preview and wham its of everything other than the EP of the week. I’ve also noticed they put Anna in there when the voice over speaks about the team.
Let’ just hope they don’t make her a part of this team; its not necessary; if they’re going to do what they call a “reset” for Season 9; then Anna should be out. I fear though that I’m wrong :-(.
Again thank you so much for all the hard work that goes into putting all this information together for us crazy fans! 🙂

    • Thanks for your kind words!

I think the basketball tournament on CBS has them going with general previews for a lot of their programs. The “Scorpion” and “Madam Secretary” ones, along with “NCIS: Los Angeles” seem to be selling the concept of the series rather than particular episodes. Hey basketball fans, look at “Scorpion” – they have sharks and rockets and explosions.

      Thanks again.

      • Thank you for explaining the rationale behind those previews; makes total sense. I don’t watch sports or watch that much television to notice those details; so again I thank you for taking the time to explain. I actually like those; they’re exciting, really gives you a good sense of a great show! I’ll enjoy them more now that I’ve been schooled :-)!!! Thank you!! 🙂
