Deeks toasting to “Little Deeks and fewer terrorists” is understandable, he’s been very vocal lately about worrying for Kensi and about the risks they run on a daily basis together, which would seem impossible with a family. I only hope this “toast” doesn’t mean Season 10 without Deeks. The show wouldn’t be the same at all (even if this season as well it’s hardly recognizable, in my opinion).
Your comment about the season/show hardly being recognizable really hit me. You’re so right and can’t believe I wasn’t able to put my finger on it. Most Sundays I will have the NCISLA marathon running (on ION) and just catch a snippet here or there between catching up my TiVo. Indeed the show doesn’t “feel the same”. I mentioned this to my BFF as we caught a few scenes this Sunday (the Kensi WOD opening and the start of Parley with Deeks and Monica). So much has changed. I’ll comment more about this on Karen’s piece contemplating ECO’s absences.
