Our Crazy Russian – Deeks’ Surf Log – 4/28/19

So Arkady is crazy as ever. He’s clearly cranked up more than usual because it’s his daughter. You can’t blame the guy for that. Plus, he doesn’t know Rogers. (Honestly neither do we.) When you’re in our business, it takes awhile to truly trust someone – like he did Hetty. And Rogers is so not Hetty.

You know who is used to dealing with crazy? My beautiful bride. I hope I’m not part of the “crazy” she’s accustomed to dealing with? Ha! The way she stealthily put Arkady in those cuffs! (Don’t ask how or when she developed that skill….)

The most perplexing thing from today wasn’t the shootout with the automatic weapons – yikes! It was Callen not coming back with Anna. We’ve all made questionable decisions, mistakes, and given dubious people some rope to proverbially hang themselves, so for the moment we’re just going to have to trust Callen that this is a “long game” strategy.

Our bar could have made a huge profit the way Arkady drank away his frustration and anxiety. But how will he be sober? He initially thinks Anna is safe escaping to Russia. Do we tell him the truth? That seems like a terrible idea. Why do I have this sinking suspicion we’re about to have to sneak into Russia – again?
