Angelina Jolie will have nothing on us: Kensi’s Journal 10.10.21

I was kind of stunned when Hetty refused declined offered to have Director Vance write a letter of reference to the adoption agency for us.  And despite Deeks trying to take my mind off it, I still wonder how it could be possible that having Hetty as a reference could be detrimental to our application to adopt.  The woman probably has more aliases than anyone in the intelligence community; certainly one of them is just a regular person whose name wouldn’t hurt our chances?

One thing I do know: considering everything Callen is going through and how little he knows about himself, I think it’s really important that if we are lucky enough to adopt a child, that we be as open as possible about their history and help them know and celebrate their cultural background if it’s different from ours.  Imagine all the holidays (and desserts!) we’d get to experience if we legally adopt a bunch of children from different countries.  I’m sure Angelina Jolie wouldn’t covet our passel of international kids, but she would definitely envy me for the man I’d have raising them with me.
