NCISLA Preview – “Black Wind” (S6E14)

NCISLA Black Wind Bullpen

“Black Wind”

Airing:  February 2nd

Shot:   December 11th to December 19th and January 5th – episode wasn’t completed before the show’s holiday break.

What is CBS telling us:  “Black Wind” – Callen and Sam go undercover as food truck owners in Mexico to find the source of an anthrax poisoning before it’s used to create a bioweapon, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Monday, Feb. 2 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

What we think is happening:  Based on the photos sent out by CBS and from crew members, this looks to have Callen and Sam undercover with lots of scenes shot in the rain and in food trucks.  Also, a little Action!Deeks in the promo.

Be on the lookout:  GUEST CAST

Was Sgt. Jill Perez on the canceled too soon Enlisted.

Enrique Castillo  (Alejandro Guzman)

Luis Jimenez (Mauricio)

Bobak Cyrus Bakhtiari (Dr. Fuad Naziri)

Masterminds:

WRITTEN BY: Joe Sachs
“Higher Power”, “The Dragon and the Fairy”, “Drive”, “Purity”, “The Livelong Day” and “Fish Out of Water”.  That’s a number of competent and smart Marty Deeks episodes.

DIRECTED BY: Dennis Smith
“Fame”, “Standoff”, “Rocket Man”, “Cyberthreat”, “Exit Strategy”, “Patriot Acts”, “Out of the Past” part one, “The Livelong Day”, “Between the Lines”, “Deep Trouble” part two, “Praesidum” and “Black Budget”.  Smith is a regular director for all things NCIS, directing the holiday episode of the New Orleans sibling and 57 episodes of the mothership to date.

Photographic Evidence:

Photos from CBS:  http://www.seat42f.com/ncis-los-angeles-season-6-episode-14-photos-black-wind.html

Not a single photo of any other NCIS staffers except Callen and Sam.  Not going out on a limb here but this looks to be a Callen and Sam heavy episode right now.

Unofficial Photographic Recon:

the Black Wind bts

A crew member took a photo of Eric Christian Olsen in a puddle reflection.  There were a lot of photos of puddles, rain, cast and crew taking cover and crew wearing rain gear during the wet weather.

Guest star Angelique Cabral took a nice behind the scenes photos with Eric Christian Olsen, Daniela Ruah and Chris O’Donnell.

In the same location, a little jumping around.

Finally, in the same location, Eric Christian Olsen and LL Cool J.

@jacqniv, the Twitter account of the program’s staff photographer, usually has some exciting behind the scenes photos posted the day of the episode (especially if there are explosions).

Got a little Action!Deeks going there.

You knew when Deeks rolled in that cactus exactly how that scene was ending (ouch!).

Sneak peak #2:  http://youtu.be/as_SQJs2BKc
Callen and Sam cement their status as an old married couple.  And we’re pretty sure Sam has a George Foreman Grill to go with his Chillow, four-in-one juicer., the upside-down tomato grower, crystal bulbs that water his plants and a Ginsu Knife that can cut through glass.

  1. Episode director Dennis Smith just added this last minute tweet:

“When it’s fun to shoot, it’s fun to watch! NCISLA tomorrow night, enjoy!”

    Yay fun!

  2. I think we’re getting a super competent director, which is nice because I feel like I’ve had some issues recently with some of the directing choices. I loved The Livelong Day because of the awesome Densi bathroom undercover and the scene where she throws the apple at his head. I wasn’t thrilled that the closing scene was humor at his expense. And I also didn’t love, well, pretty much anything about Drive.

  3. Excited…hoping everyone will catch an important moment between Densi, in the tunnel! Replaying it over and over again!
