NCISLA Preview: “Kolcheck, A.” (S6E23)

“Kolcheck, A.”

Airing: May 11th

Filming: April 8 to April 17

What CBS is telling us: Callen and Sam search for answers when they find dead crew members from the missing oil tanker used in Arkady’s deal with Russia, and also discover Arkady’s personal connection to the ship, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES, Monday, May 11 (9:59-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

What we think is happening: The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming! Well, one Russian in particular – Anastasia Kolcheck (played by Bar Paly) – who was the woman in the picture on Arkady’s phone. So, is the “Kolcheck, A.” Arkady or Anastasia (as suggested by an anonymous person on Tumblr).

Be on the lookout: GUEST CAST

Vyto Ruginis as Arkady Kolcheck
Back again after appearing in “Pushback”, “Tin Soldiers”, “Neighborhood Watch”, “Rude Awakenings” Part Two, “Wanted”, “Reznikov, N.”, “The 3rd Choir” and “Beacon”. I don’t think there is an actor on the program who has as much fun with his part as Ruginis.

Ray Campbell as Sgt. Charles Turner
Tyrus Kitt in season four of Breaking Bad, Klevon Gardner on The Shield and guest roles on NCIS (Tatum Dell in season six’s “Knockout”) and in episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Gang Related, Hawthorne, Parenthood, The Cleaner, The Unit, The District and Angel.

Jamison Yang as Sebastian De Luna
Was the anesthesiologist in the “Critical Condition” episode of JAG (where Bud lost his leg). Had guest roles in series as varied as Charmed and The King of Queens as well as ER, The West Wing and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

George Ketsios as Shooter
Recent roles include guest starring on Revenge, Scandal, Shameless, The Mindy Project and Sleepy Hollow.

Felisha Cooper as Lexi St. Costa
Maya Gibson on The Last Ship and a few guest-starring roles on crime dramas.

Jamie Hill as Swimsuit Model #1
Chloe Chandler on NCIS’s “Prime Suspect” episode. Guest roles on About a Boy, Chosen, Castle, Two and a Half Men, Go On, CSI: NY, Private Practice and Leverage. Ran The Amazing Race in season 10 with fellow University of South Carolina cheerleader Kellie Patterson.

Tatum Miranda as Swimsuit Model #2
Several TV and movie roles with names like model, girlfriend, dream girl.

Paul Duke as Ivan Karposev
A number of roles in short films.

Elena Evangelo as Elia Berkeley
Matt Stasi as Patrick Berkeley
Evangelo and Stasi were the brother-sister team of smugglers in “Beacon” three weeks ago.

Bar Paly as Anastasia Kolcheck
Was Lola on Starter Wife and appeared in a number of television programs (CSI: NY, How I Met Your Mother) and feature films (“Pain & Gain” and “Million Dollar Arm”). Paly has a website.

Written by: Joseph C. Wilson
Wrote or co-wrote “Full Throttle”, “Stand-off”, “Personal”, “Plan B”, “Sacrifice”, “Blye, K.” Part One, “Gold Standard”, “Unwritten Rule”, “Fallout”, “Between the Lines”, “Exposure” and “Reign Fall”.

Directed by: James Hanlon
Directed “War Cries” and “The Grey Man”.

Insider Intel:

Nothing up this week so far.

Official Photographic Evidence:

My favorite photo is Deeks, Kensi and an unnamed NCIS staffer in their full tactical gear with big guns on the bridge of a ship and Arkady armed with a fire extinguisher.
Unofficial Surveillance:
This was a big episode for set photos…

Erlc Christian Olsen sent out a photo on the first day of shooting:

The episode’s writer (Joe Wilson) and director (James Hanlon) share a moment on the beach:

Joe Wilson decided to take some “artistic” shots of Eric Christian Olsen….

…and Daniela Ruah joined in on the fun (adding Joe Wilson to the photo):

And because we can’t have enough photos of Eric Christian Olsen on the set, here he is with costars Barrett Foa and Miguel Ferrer, A.D. Eric Pot and director James Hanlon from Miguel Ferrer’s twitter account:

Back to the episode, LL Cool J shared a set photo that looks like Arcady’s home:

And a very big boat:

And Jamie Hill with her time on the set with Felisha Cooper and Tatum Miranda:

Finally a photo of shooting in the water:

I think there is a beach aspect to this episode – just a guess, but bikinis, ocean…quite possible. As always, @jacqniv Twitter/Instagram accounts are a source of behind the scenes photos, usually posted day of or the days just after the episodes air.

A number of the cast members have been loading short scenes to their Instagram accounts on Mondays in recent weeks.
Video Surveillance:

That car backing into the Caddy does not look like good news. The warning about mixing the personal and the professional – Hetty, have you watched the program in recent years? There isn’t much difference between the two.

Sneak Peek #1:

Deeks and Kensi are arriving together and not even talking carpool. Things are seemingly going well. While he looks fetching in his red and grey softball shirt, I would like to keep Deeks out of red shirts whenever possible. It never helped Ensign Ricky (

And that’s a very likable version of Deeks – generous to friends who have fallen on hard times. Just wondering if he offered a loan to someone who is on an Internal Affairs watch list.

Sneak Peek #2:

Action Deeks and Kensi are chasing “Turner” who is probably Sgt. Charles Turner in the guest cast.

Great write-up! I love reading these and then again right before watching the episode to be sure that I don’t miss anything😄. Thanks for all the BTS and photos, they rock!

LL has a beautiful smile. Love seeing photos of everyone enjoying each other’s company. Can’t wait for tonight’s epi.

  4. These previews are so great. I wish I wasn’t so spoiler-averse, so I could study them before the episode airs. It’s still fun to see all the BTS photos afterwards.
