Can We Make a Difference? Deeks’ Surf Log 5/5/22

What a world we live in. Every time we bring down one cartel, another pops up in its place. Are we really making a difference or just holding off the inevitable? We lost too many good men today. But maybe the video testimony from Henderson will make a difference, God rest his soul. Every time I begin to lose faith I will think of his bravery and pray that we end up on the winning side.

Today we all received an amazing gift from Eric Beale as a token of friendship which doesn’t surprise me really. Another good man who appreciates the people who mean a lot to him. We are lucky to have such good friends. I know Kensi teased me about using the money to set up a man cave in the garage but all I could think of was how much that money will come to good use when we welcome a foster child into Chez Deeks. Fixing up the house and jumping through all the other hoops they have put us through will be worth it if we can make a difference in their lives. We may never solve all the world’s problems, but maybe we can help one little girl have a better life. One life at a time….it’s all we can do.
