Colleen’s Pick: Paris, France
by DeeksFreak | wikiDeeks.com
In the words of Sabrina Fairchild, Paris is always a good idea. It has something for everyone — incredible sights, impressive landmarks, world-class museums, fabulous shopping, amazing food… with no shortage of things to see and do, the possibilities for our favorite duo are, quite simply, endless.
Deeks and Kensi could stroll along the Seine heading towards Île de la Cité and Île Saint Louis, taking in the sight of Notre Dame and the many bridges that cross the famed river that divides the city in two. Spending time at a café – perhaps Le Flore en L’Ile – watching Parisian life happen around them would make for a nice, leisurely afternoon. After dinner they could enjoy a river cruise that would take them past all the main attractions in the heart of Paris and show them why it’s called the City of Light.
Another day could be spent enjoying the city’s many museums. The Louvre is the most prominent museum in Europe and showcases an extensive collection of famous works spanning several cultures. The Victoire de Samothrace (Winged Victory) is a beautiful Greek sculpture that should not be missed and would undoubtedly remind Kensi of her favorite movie. At Musée d’Orsay, a converted train station, Deeks could test Kensi’s knowledge of Impressionist art while viewing the actual paintings instead of using flash cards!
Paris boasts thousands of restaurants, not to mention the best pastries on the planet, so there’s plenty of opportunity for Deeks to cater to Kensi’s sweet tooth each and every day of their stay. When it comes to food, the French know what they’re doing. Twinkies and cronuts are sure to be forgotten once they sink their teeth into the delectable treats enticing them from gorgeous window displays all over the city.
Deeks and Kensi could spend a night on the town, visiting any one of a number of entertainment venues. Deeks wouldn’t be able to pass up the opportunity to see Phantom of the Opera in the actual place that inspired the story – Palais Garnier. Or, they could check out a show at the Moulin Rouge if they prefer something a little more risqué. A third option would be to party on any one of a number of floating discotheques that come alive on the Seine after the sun sets. Kensi would no doubt choose the latter, after all, sometimes a girl just needs to get her freak on…
No trip to Paris is complete without a trip to the top of Tour Eiffel. It may be touristy and cliché, but everyone should do it at least once. Each of it’s three levels offer stunning views of the entire city. Of course, Densi would have to have their picture taken with the Tower in the background as a keepsake of their trip together. To do that, they would head across the river to the Trocadéro. The large esplanade between the two wings of Palais de Chaillot is the place for the ultimate Kodak moment involving Paris’ most famous landmark.
