Behind the Scenes of ECO’s Craziest Filming Day

In this week’s #askECO video, Eric Christian Olsen shared his “craziest, most magical day of filming.” He described a day with LL Cool J on the set of “Fish Out of Water” spent feeding some friendly sea lions from the stash of fresh fish purchased for the fish market scene. We thought you’d enjoy seeing the photographic proof:

According to CBS, some of the sea lions weighed 600 pounds! (That sounds more like Otis than the little guys in the pic.)

To refresh your memory, this is the scene that introduced us to Talia del Campo and gave us Eric’s “red herring” joke:

  1. Great pic! Mercedes Mason, aka Talia del Campo, now has a recurring roll on the new show, The Rookie. Almost didn’t recognize her. She is now a straight-laced police captain. What would Deeks say to that?

  2. Thanks for the photographic proof of the episode Eric mentioned as his “craziest filming day”. I remember “Fish out of water” very well, not only because it introduced Talia (whom I happened to quite like in that particular circumstance before the authors decided to turn her into an obnoxious character) but especially because Deeks was so gorgeous there and sweet, too, missing Kensi like crazy all day.

#askECO: Eric, how is your family doing in the wake of the tragic California fires coming so close to your home? How are Little Bear and Little Fox coping with such a frightening experience? Please know that we are all thinking of you and your family, and sending prayers your way for your family’s continued safety. 🙂
