NCISLA Classified Preview: “Parallel Resistors” (S8E08)

img_0609

Title:   “Parallel Resistors”

Airing:   November 13th

Filming: September 30th to October 11th with Daniela Ruah’s scenes shot in early July.

What CBS is telling us:  After a graduate student developing an electromagnetic weapon for the Navy is attacked, the NCIS team discovers a connection to international warfare. Also, Kensi continues grueling physical therapy for her spinal injury, on NCIS: LOS ANGELES

What we think is happening:  Kensi’s rehab will include scenes with an actor whose real life story could be an episode of a drama itself.  There are also scenes in a tiki bar, filming with drones, a baseball field, a child in peril and Raj’s mom from The Big Bang Theory.

  1. Thanks for your preview and all the behind-the-scenes photos and news you collected.
Of this episode I especially fear the character of Sullivan: on one side I hope he will be the right trigger that Kensi needs not to give up and react more, on the other side I’m afraid he will be the last straw in Deeks’ and Kensi’s revival of “terrible communication skills” of late.
I cross my fingers Sullivan will give a positive contribution to Kensi’s disability arc (and Densi storyline), because I like the actor and I hope this character will do him justice.

    • Totally agree with what you wrote about Sullivan and about the actor. I hope he isn’t that former agent seeking revenge, especially Kensi (+Deeks) been through enough drama already. I am hoping for positive things happening , we’ve had so much drama. (mole, Kensi+Deeks, Granger sick?…).
I really hope they solve the mole case soon, please writers/producers: ) agents are so fast solving terrorist threats in Syria, Afganistan and all over the world and now this mole hunt (close to them) is taking months.
Thank you for Tess for this great preview and thank you all for comments and views, !

      • I think Kensi’s rehab is about Kensi’s rehab and not someone who has a vendetta against her or the team. This is her story.

I’m with you on the mole. The show set up a deadline – 90 days. If they’re not done by the annual Christmas/holiday episode, they won’t make their own deadline.

Thanks for the nice words – this is always so fun to do!

    • I think the program tipped their hand last week when the physical therapist told Kensi, who thought things couldn’t be worse, that there were people rehabbing terrible injuries in the hospital. With what the actor has accomplished with his own recovery, I think he could be the person Kensi needs – someone with a life changing event who did not allow it to define him. Hopefully, that gets her moving in the right direction.

  2. Thanks once again for pulling this altogether.I really do not know how you know all this , but it is great you do. I was looking at Alice Amter’s post when she first put it out there, and I knew she looked familiar but could not place her. Thank you for pointing out she is Raj’s mother from the Big Bang, I must gave seen her a dozen times on that show. This looks like another action packed episode, with action Deeks, so I cannot wait!

    • Thanks for the kind words! These are fun to do – nice break from real life.

The cast stuff always is important to me because if I recognize someone but can’t place them, it distracts me until the commercial break and I can check the person out on IMDB.

      Thanks again!

  5. I’m going to be optimistic about this; I also like Kurt Yaeger; seen him in a few flicks; he’s great. My only concern is that Kensi may lean on him too much and let’s not forget if this guy is Sullivan; its not good. Sullivan was an agent who Hetty thought died after he went back into the field after being injured; hence why Hetty kept Kensi in Ops her first day back from Afghanistan. She didn’t want another Sullivan situation; sending an Agent on assignment too soon after being injured. Sullivan has never been seen; is he good, does he want payback, is Kensi his window of opportunity; oh the questions!!! I’m looking forward to a good episode tonight; however; last EP we only got one Densi scene just one. If Sully is what Kensi needs; what about Deeks who’s been by her side with the during her horrible journey. I think I better ready my heart for this one ;-).
Again, thank you for all work that goes into these previews; its just fantastic how you pull all this together for us fans! We are truly grateful!!

    • I don’t think this is the same Sullivan. The Sullivan situation happened in 1999 – this Sullivan, if his age is close to the actor’s, would be very young to be that Sullivan.

And thank you for the nice words – these are fun to put together. After a long day at work, it is fun to hunt around on Instagram or Twitter to see if there are photos for the episodes.

  6. Oh Tess! I sure hope you are correct! I also hope they (writers) don’t go to the triangle crap we’ve already been through with Kensi and Deeks. I’m all for whatever will help Kensi get better; I’m really concerned about this Sullivan character. I’m actually hoping he’s a good guy; I like this actor a lot and would love to see more of him then just a few episodes; time will tell!
I would like to see Sam’s Seal Buddy Tom Olsen again; that was great!
    Happy NCISLA night everyone!

  7. I agree, lets hope the writers don’t….how did you put it… don’t go to the triangle crap… well said.
Deeks has always bee there, they are stronger together and after everything Deeks has endured….Well lets look back a bit. Kensi discounting him at first, being openly mocked, called a temp, unprofessional, having his abilities and even his character questioned, punched in the face by the woman he loves, Siderov, Afghanistan, Romania, Russia, having to lie to Kensi about a being fired, Kensi being accused of murder, good grief how the list goes on…..
He has always been there…faithful and loyal… Doesn’t he deserve this.
Doesn’t he deserve to be the one she leans on, the one she depends on, the one she needs..after all this time, doesn’t he deserve to be that guy…

    • “doesn’t he deserve to be that guy…”

Not everyone can be everything to all people. Deeks has been kind, supportive and just everything Kensi needs him to be. But someone going through what she’s struggling with will have insights Deeks will never have. And right now, maybe that’s what Kensi needs.

      I don’t see a triangle. I see a friend.

  9. Tess; I agree I hope there’s no triangle; however that Sullivan; played great by Kurt Yaeger; was really good. I still think he is up to something. I mean really how did he describe Kensi’s fiancé (glad she used that word) so accurately. On the surface you wouldn’t put those two together; he just seemed to know too much; more than a guess. I’m staying suspicious of this guy for now. I like the character a lot and hope he’s a good guy; but I think he tipped his hand last night; just my opinion.
Another EP with one Densi scene; however that one scene was golden!!! I’ll take it!!
